3 of 4 people found the following review helpful I love this waxer!, Alilela (Lowell, MA USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Surgi-wax Professional Salon System Total Body & Face Roll-on Waxer (Health and Beauty) I have been getting professionally waxed for the last 13 years. Probably around 8 years ago my best friend found this at-home waxer to save us money and we've been using it faithfully ever since. It definitely takes a while to warm up, but the is no reason to fault this machine because you disagree with the laws of physics. Usually I plug it in and go do something else for 45 minutes. When the wax is getting low in the waxer, I put it into the machine pointing down (which will leak a little) because it makes the wax come out soo much easier. Like I said, I have been waxing forever and the most amazing thing about this waxer is that it doesn't hurt when I wax my legs. I still hurt when a professional waxes my legs, so it isn't like I'm just all numbed out from too many years of waxing, but there is something about this wax that does not hurt me at all. I love this little machine and plan to use it forever. Enjoy! 2 of 3 people found the following review helpful Worst I've tried, This review is from: Surgi-wax Professional Salon System Total Body & Face Roll-on Waxer (Health and Beauty) Takes too long to heat up, then cools to quickly to be useable. The wax pulls your skin as it goes on. My skin is still red from trying it yesterday, not just the folicles, the skin too. The wax residue is difficult to remove from the skin, you must use an oil and firm rubbing to get the spots off, but I still found patches of lint on my legs later... But, I couldn't use the same strip more than two times because the wax won't stick to the strip. Also, The small unit doesn't spread wax at all, I was not able to get it to work, even just to try it.I tried leaving the wax in the unit longer than recommended to see if the wax ever got liuid-y enough to use right, I got exactly one good strip before the wax was too thick again and just pulled the skin as it was applied. Worst Ever. At home I've tried Sally Hanson and Nair; both removed hair just as well, but with way less pain & irritation plus they were cheaper. Honestly? Dry shaving would be less irritating... Not keeping... Read more Great product if you like the IDEA of waxing but don't really want to remove any hair., Gretchee (Iowa) - See all my reviews This review is from: Surgi-wax Professional Salon System Total Body & Face Roll-on Waxer (Health and Beauty) I followed the directions exactly. Read and re-read the instructions to make sure I hadn't missed anything. I simply could not get the product to work. The heater would not heat the wax up to the point of allowing any except the barest hint of wax to exit the bottle, and then only with extreme pressure was I able to get any wax to come out of the roller. I allowed the product to heat for over an hour. I turned up my thermostat over and over until it was nearly 78 degrees in my house. I finally removed the roller from the wax bottle and bit the bottle with my teeth to get a few drops onto my leg and then tried to spread it around with the fabric strips. Using this method, I was finally able to remove about 15 hairs from my shin. If I'd used tweezers during the time I spent trying to get this thing to work, I probably could have removed 10 times as much hair. |
